The National MS Society was one of the first non-profits to incorporate large-scale cycling events into their fundraising efforts.  Today, there are many such rides, evidence of the power and appeal of bicycling to rally people to a cause.  Today, the BikeMS Historic New Bern Ride is one of the organization’s largest and best of their events held throughout the country.

Join us as Samantha Ammons describes the role of events like Bike MS New Bern in helping her organization generate funds and support programs to aid victims of MS and most importantly, support research toward a cure.  She will also talk about the logistics of this huge cycling weekend, and the challenges of organizing an army of volunteers, suppliers, and 2,000 cyclists keen on a ‘rolling party on wheels’ as the New Bern weekend has been described.  Many NCBC members and hundreds of cyclists throughout the Triangle take part in this event.  Please join us for a fascinating and inspiring presentation!

About Samantha Ammons: Samantha (Sammie) Ammons is the Senior Specialist for the BikeMS Historic New Bern Ride, serving in that capacity since 2014.
