You are all set for the holidays, so come out and ride, heck even if you are not, come out and ride. Dash through the trails in your two leg power bike over roots with bells on bob-tail ringing. By now hopefully we have a good routine for the rides and we have to be out of the park before 8PM. Please read the details below and if you have any questions, let me know.
As always, first timers need waivers and you also need to sign in, please hit the link below, fill out the wavier and bring it with you, saves time and we can get the ride started sooner. And everyone the table will be set up, so please sign in as soon as you get at park and let’s have another great ride.
Time: Meet at 5:45pm, ride by 6:00pm.
Type of ride: All skills, social night ride
Speed: 5 – 12 mph
Distance: Depends on group, between 6 – 12 miles or less
Time spent riding: approx. 1.5 hours
Please park in the back of the boat rental lot. We’ll meet in the lot close to the restrooms to avoid clogging up the parking lot entrance.
Difficulty: Lake Crabtree is one of the easiest and fun trails to ride with ride-arounds for all obstacles. All riders are welcome, but I would recommend that you are comfortable riding Crabtree in the daylight before you attempt this ride.
Details: No-drop ride for all riders, we will split into groups per experience /speed/ skill level. This ride is for all levels and if this is your first time I will make sure there is a group that will suit your comfort level. Lake Crabtree County Park is a great location for beginners. Expect easy to slightly moderate elevation changes. All trail obstacles have ride a rounds. Pace will be dependent on the experience and skill levels of the attendees.
You must wear a helmet while riding on the trails. Make sure you have plenty of water. Of course you will need a light, helmet/handlebar or both. It doesn’t have to be expense and you can ask more experience riders or on forums for recommendations.
Being part of TORC Meetup isn’t quite the same as being a TORC member. Join TORC for as little as $39 at http://torc-nc.org/support-torc/ This fee helps to finance trail building and maintenance, and rewards you with discounts on TORC races and at many of the local bike shops. Membership means leverage, so please join us in representing our dirt-loving interests in the triangle.
