We’ll ride the Northwest Passage route, 34+ miles around part of Falls Lake in northern Wake County. It’s moderately hilly.
I anticipate us having two or three pace groups between 15 mph and 18 mph, depending on attendance. Please try stay together in groups, without leaving anyone behind, because this is not a race. There will probably not be a sweep for this ride but I will have cue sheets for those who don’t know the route, and we’ll make sure everyone makes it back safely. You can find a map at: https://tinyurl.com/NWPassageLoop . This may not render correctly on smartphones, so use your desktop or laptop computer. There’s a rest stop at a convenience store around mile 16 that sells drinks, candy bars etc.
A helmet, water, spare tube, patch kit and pump are required. Sunglasses are recommended for eye protection.
After entering the park, take your first left and then another quick left into the parking lot.
After the ride, we’ll head down to a restaurant. I suggest Rudino’s Pizza on Strickland, but we can decide that as a group just before the ride.
