We’re heading up to Pocahontas State Park for a day of riding with the Weekday Riders meetup group.
We will start on the Swift Creek Trail System then make our way over to the Morgan Trail System, and hopefully over to The Lakeview system.
Plan to hit the trails at 9:00am. Please plan to arrive in plenty of time to get yourself ready for the trails. I do not know the area so I can not help with navigation. Put the address in google maps and it should take you right to the parking area. It is just a gravel parking lot on the side of the road across the street from a brown house with a very small sign that says you are entering Pocahontas State Park. You will miss the sign if you aren’t looking for it.
This will be an all day trip so bring food for lunch and dinner (maybe some money for a stop on the way home if ya want.)

I will be riding till I can not physically ride anymore. Everyone is welcome to do their own thing and break off into whatever groups naturally form. I would like to hit every trail if possible. Blue Jay and Moonshine in the swift creek system are absolutely amazing!
MOUNTAIN BIKE AND HELMET ARE REQUIRED.
THIS IS NOT A BEGINNER FRIENDLY RIDE DUE TO THE AMOUNT OF RIDING WE WILL BE DOING. MILEAGE WILL BE BETWEEN 25-50 MILES. EVERYONE IS WELCOME BUT EVERYONE IS RESPONSIBLE FOR THEMSELVES AND CAN DECIDE WHEN THEY WANT TO BE DONE AND HEAD BACK TO THEIR CARS ON THEIR OWN.
To ensure a safe and enjoyable ride for everyone please bring a helmet, hydration (water bottles/camelbac, etc) snacks for on the trail, multi tool, and tube/tire repair kit.
I am a casual group leader… meaning that we will try to hit the trail at 9:00am, however, I understand things happen. We may end up waiting a few minutes if someone is running late or having an issue.
My cell number is 910-987-1494. If you are running a few minutes late please text me to let me know so we can wait on ya.
Parking is $10 a carload, cash or some app that you can use that is posted at the parking pay area sign.
